Republic of Cape Verde

An island nation so foreign not only to us but also to many others.

This is an archipelago consisting of 10 large islands and three small islands. Formerly a Portuguese colony, granted independence in 1975.
🏝 The largest island is the Capital. The size of Phu Quoc island.
🏝 There is one main island uninhabited.
🏝 The economy is not developed.
 The volcano is still active.

Some differences of this island nation:

✏️The islands travel to each other mainly by plane
✏️It is one of the 3 most important areas in the world for sea turtles to lay eggs 🐢️
✏️This is the sea where humpback whales come to breed
✏️There is a sea on Sal Island, the amount of salt is enough for visitors to float on the water without having to try anything. Similar to the Dead Sea.

Many of the people of Cape Verde live abroad. Sending money home is equivalent to 20% of the island's GDP. The reason: The repeated droughts this country experienced in the second half of the 20th century caused a lot of locals to migrate to the US, Europe, Africa and South America.

✏️Even though it has less than 600k inhabitants, but Cape Verde has produced a lot of talented people in the field: football, singers, poets... Although not to the world famous level, but those people also have the most achievements. overseas, has a reputation in Portugal, the Netherlands and the United States.

Why do I know this island nation?

Because some of my colleagues are residents of Cape Verde. Some people have been to the US for 35 years, some have just passed for more than 2 years. Perhaps, the Cape Verdeans were concentrated only in Massachusetts, because the pioneers of this island nation came to America and lived in Massachusetts. Other American states may have little or no Cape Verdeans.

As the United States, living and working in the United States will have the opportunity to interact and learn about people and cultures of all countries in the world. All work together, earn money, have fun and be equal with each other. Particularly, the people of Cape Verde give me a very special impression, unlike other black people: cheerful, very hardworking, very confident, always proactive in helping others and they are very affectionate like Vietnamese in the countryside.
